Description
Sumeet was born into an illustrious musical family, Dhrupad tradition of Darbhanga Gharana. Maternal Grandson of legendary PadmaShree Late Pt Siyaram Tiwari and great-grandson of music genius Bihar Ratna Late Pt Ram Prasad Pandey, Sumeet started learning Indian classical music at a tender age from his grandfather, Sh. Birendra Mohan Pandey and went on to complete Sangeet Prabhakar (B.A) and Sangeet Visharad (M.A.). Since 2008, Sumeet is learning Dhrupad as per Guru-Shishya tradition from living legend, Dhrupad Maestro, Pt Abhay Narayan Mallick. Sumeet is fast emerging as a promising young talent in Dhrupad. Besides being a performer, he is a methodical teacher also.
