B K Anantharam comes from a family of musicians. He has learned Flute from many legends. He had performed across India and abroad. Anantharam has carved a niche for himself in the field of South Indian Classical Music. He is also a recipient of many awards. They are Kempegowda award, Kalabhushana, Kanchi Kamakoti Asthana Vidwan among others. B K Anantharam is Amith Nadig's father and also his first guru. He underwent training under Dr.R K Srikantan to learn the finer aspects of the Gayaki Style of the flute. He has been playing for almost 2 decades. He is undergoing training under Dr. R N Thyagarajan. He has been performing on stage for the past 19 years. He has performed on many prestigious festivals all over India and abroad. He draws influence from a variety of music. His major influences include Karnatic, Hindustani, Fusion, Jazz and Filmy.
