Bangalore Brothers

Shri S Ashok was born on 20 August 1981 to Late Shri M K Satyanarayana and Smt K R Puttachamma and began his initial training in Carnatic Vocal music in 1989 from Vidwan Shri DS Srivatsa, VidushiSmtVaidehi and Vidwan K R Ramesh. Shri Ashok holds a Post Graduate Degree in Carnatic Music from the University of Madras. He has also passed the Vidwathst Examination conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board in 1 Rank. Shri S Ashok has been performing with Shri M B Hariharan as a Carnatic music duo known as the “Bangalore Brothers”. The Bangalore Brothers are undergoing advanced training in vocal music from Vidwan Shri Salem P Sundareshan and Vidwan Shri H S Sudhindra. They are'B-High” Graded Artists in All India Radio in the Carnatic Vocals – Duet category. The Bangalore Brothers have performed in various television channels such as Doordarshan, DDMalayalam, SVBC Nadaneerajanam (TTD), Amrita TV, to name a few and at various prestigious venues. The duo are the recipients of many prizes including the “Best Vocalists' and 'Best Concert”prizes in concert competitions organised by prestigious organisations . They have many audio albums to their credit. They have also contributed to the video production “Sooloadi-s” a unique tribute toHaridasas in the field of Carnatic Music. The Bangalore Brothers have been appreciated for the singing, dedication and adherence to tradition in their performances.
