Smt. D Tejaswini Rao specializes in two types of Indian dance: Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. She teachesĀ nutrition at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Tejaswini has also run Natya, a school for classical Indian dance in New York. Tejaswini's parents, Dr. and Mrs. C R Rao, began Tejaswini's dance training when she was six. The family lived in Calcutta then. Dr. Rao is currently a University professor emeritus of statistics. Tejaswini's parents sent her to South India. There she learned the two classical dance styles she specializes in.
