Manasi Prasad received her initial training in music from her mother Tara Prasad. She later learned from Jahnavi Jayaprakash and Dr. Varadarangan. She enhanced her repertoire further under Shri R K Padmanabhan, an eminent musician. Manasi Prasad is a graded artist with All India Radio. She has performed in many prestigious concerts in India and abroad. She has also conducted workshops and lecture-demonstrations on Hindustani music. She has conducted workshops on Indian performing arts at Chile University, South America. Manasi Prasad received a national scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. She has many recordings to her credit.
Smita Rao Bellur is rare among India’s vocalists. She is India’s first female Hindustani vocalist into a lineage of qawaals. (Sufi/ Islamic mystic singers.) and to have received extensive guidance from them. She has the ability to sing in many languages (Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Punjabi). Her perfect tones, depth has connected her with audiences across the subcontinent. She has performed on hundreds of occasions. She has performed on radio and TV. She performed in the Indian National Trust for Cultural Heritage.
