Rammohan Maharaj

Born in famous prestigious family of KALKA-BINDADIN Gharana of Kathak. He is the son of late legendry Padmasree Pt. Sambhu Maharaj. His initiation in kathak dance was under his father at the age of six. His father taught him the proper style of kathak and abhinaya. After his father he was guided by Pt. Birju Maharaj. He proved himself to be a great maestro in kathak. He is the seventh generation of this family. He has performed soloist in the prestigious programs in all major states of India. He has choreographed many ballets in India and in abroad. He is a successful choreographer. He is a good Tabla Player, Pakahawaj Player. He has sung in various recording. After Birju Maharaj, he is the traditional bearer of this gharana. He has the style & expression acquired from his father and the various styles from the other ancestors of his family. In India Maharajji participated in the prestigious Bindadin Jayanti. He performed in the Khajuraho Festival, Sarat Chandrika Mahotsova, Lucknow Mahatsova, Bhatkhande Jayanti and in Guwalior Mahatsova .He performed workshop and performance in Kalidas Mahatsova. He was associated with Sri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra for many years as a senior guru. He was the director in Sangeet Natak Academy in Lucknow. He performed workshop in Kolkata, Agartala, Ahmedabad, Nasik, Bhopal, Ujjain, Lucknow and many more states of India. He has performed in almost all the states of India.
